André Lurçat, né le 27 août 1894 à Bruyères-et-Montbérault en France, était un architecte et urbaniste renommé du XXe siècle. Il est considéré comme l'un des principaux promoteurs du mouvement moderne dans l'architecture française. Son travail, caractérisé par des formes géométriques simples et des matériaux industrialisés, a contribué à façonner la vision de l'architecture moderne en France. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme d'architecture en 1921, Lurçat a travaillé avec son frère, Jean Lurçat, un célèbre artiste et créateur de tapisseries. Cette collaboration a influencé son approche architecturale, en intégrant des éléments artistiques dans ses designs. Il a également été influencé par les travaux de l'architecte suisse Le Corbusier, et a participé à ses côtés à la création de la Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris. Il est notamment connu pour la construction de la colonie de vacances de l'Office du Tourisme du Travail de la Vendée (OTTV) à La Roche-sur-Yon en 1927, qui est devenue une référence dans le domaine de l'architecture moderne en France. André Lurçat est décédé le 11 novembre 1970, laissant derrière lui un héritage architectural important.
