Anne Hébert, célèbre écrivaine québécoise, est née le 1er août 1916 à Sainte-Catherine-de-Fossambault, au Québec, et est décédée le 22 janvier 2000 à Montréal. Elle est considérée comme l'une des plus grandes auteures francophones du 20e siècle. Issue d'une famille intellectuelle, Anne Hébert baigne dès son plus jeune âge dans un milieu propice à la créativité et aux lettres. Ces romans lui permettent d'être reconnue tant au Québec qu'à l'international. Anne Hébert est une auteure avant-gardiste, qui explore de nombreux sujets tabous à son époque tels que l'amour, la sexualité, la violence et la question de l'identité. Elle se distingue par son style poétique, ses métaphores saisissantes et sa capacité à créer des atmosphères denses et sombres, typiques de ses romans gothiques. En plus de son talent d'écrivaine, Anne Hébert est également une poète de renom.
