Charles X de France, également connu sous le nom de Charles Philippe, est né le 9 octobre 1757 à Versailles, France. Il était le fils aîné du dauphin Louis, fils de Louis XV, et de Marie-Josèphe de Saxe. Charles a grandi au milieu de la cour de Versailles et a été élevé dans un environnement de luxe et d'opulence. Durant son adolescence, Charles a été profondément marqué par la Révolution française qui a débuté en 1789. En 1795, après l'exécution de son frère Louis XVI et la mort de son neveu Louis XVII en captivité, il devient le chef de la branche aînée des Bourbons et le prétendant au trône de France. En exil, Charles voyage à travers l'Europe, cherchant le soutien des puissances royales pour récupérer le trône de France. Finalement, en 1824, il devient roi de France, succédant à son frère Louis XVIII. Cependant, son règne est de courte durée et marque une période de tension sociale et politique dans le pays. Charles X est souvent critiqué pour son autoritarisme, sa politique ultra-royaliste et son mépris pour les idéaux de la Révolution française. Il tente de restaurer les privilèges de la noblesse et de renforcer les pouvoirs de la monarchie, ce qui suscite un vif mécontentement dans la population. La Révolution de Juillet 1830 éclate en réponse à la politique de Charles X. Les Parisiens se révoltent et les barricades se dressent dans les rues. Face à cette opposition grandissante, Charles X abdique en faveur de son petit-fils Henri V et part en exil en Angleterre. Charles X passe le reste de sa vie en exil en Angleterre où il meurt le 6 novembre 1836, dans un relatif anonymat. Malgré ses tentatives pour restaurer l'ancien régime et son impopularité durant son règne, Charles X reste un symbole de la monarchie absolue et des échecs de la Restauration en France. Son règne marque la fin d'une époque et l'ouverture d'une nouvelle ère politique en France, caractérisée par l'avènement de la monarchie de Juillet et l'ascension de la classe bourgeoise. Charles X reste ainsi un personnage controversé de l'histoire de France et un rappel des tensions entre les idées révolutionnaires et les aspirations monarchiques de l'époque.
