Chris Perez is a renowned American guitarist, songwriter, and author, best known for his time playing with the iconic Tejano singer Selena. Born on August 14, 1969 in San Antonio, Texas, Perez developed a passion for music at a young age and formed his first band at just 14 years old. In 1989, he joined Selena y Los Dinos as the lead guitarist and quickly became romantically involved with the singer, eventually marrying her in 1992. Their marriage was tragically cut short when Selena was murdered in 1995, leaving Perez devastated. In the years following her death, he continued to pursue his music career, releasing several albums with his band Chris Perez Band. In addition to his music pursuits, Perez also authored a book, "To Selena, with Love," which detailed his life with Selena and their enduring love story.
