Claude Berri, de son vrai nom Claude Berel Langmann, est né le 1er juillet 1934 à Paris, en France. Il est considéré comme l'un des réalisateurs et producteurs de cinéma les plus talentueux de sa génération. Dès son plus jeune âge, il est attiré par le monde du cinéma et se passionne pour la réalisation. Berri fait ses débuts dans le cinéma en tant qu'acteur, apparaissant dans plusieurs films, notamment "Le Bonheur est pour demain" en 1950. Cependant, c'est derrière la caméra qu'il se fait vraiment remarquer. Son premier court-métrage, "Le Poulet" en 1962, lui vaut déjà une nomination pour l'Oscar du meilleur court-métrage en 1965. Au fil des années, Berri développe son propre style de réalisation, mêlant réalisme et humour noir. Il se distingue particulièrement avec "Mazel Tov ou le Mariage" en 1968, qui lui vaut une nomination à la Palme d'Or au Festival de Cannes. Son premier long métrage, "Le Pistonné" en 1970, est un succès critique et commercial, propulsant sa carrière. Dans les années 1970 et 1980, Berri enchaîne les succès avec des films tels que "Germinal" en 1970, adaptation du célèbre roman d'Émile Zola, qui remporte de nombreux prix, dont le César du meilleur film en 1971 et "Tchao Pantin" en 1983, pour lequel il reçoit le César du meilleur réalisateur. En plus de son talent de réalisateur, Berri excelle également en tant que producteur. Il est à l'origine du développement de nombreux films français acclamés, tels que "La Guerre des boutons" en 1962 et "Jean de Florette" en 1986, qui lui permet de remporter le César du meilleur producteur. Claude Berri est également engagé politiquement et socialement. Il s'implique dans la lutte pour les droits des artistes et des auteurs, et est l'un des membres fondateurs de l'ARP, l'Association des réalisateurs et producteurs français. Malheureusement, Claude Berri décède le 12 janvier 2009 à Paris, laissant derrière lui une filmographie riche en chefs-d'œuvre et une marque indélébile dans l'histoire du cinéma français. Son talent et sa contribution au septième art lui ont valu de nombreuses récompenses tout au long de sa carrière, faisant de lui l'un des cinéastes les plus respectés et admirés de France.
