Claude Carrère, de son vrai nom Claude Carrère-Delmas, est une figure emblématique de l'industrie musicale française. Né le 10 janvier 1930 à Paris, il grandit dans une famille de mélomanes et de passionnés de musique. Très tôt, il développe une véritable passion pour cet art et décide d'en faire sa vie. Son parcours dans l'industrie musicale débute dans les années 1950. Il travaille d'abord en tant que directeur artistique chez Barclay, une maison de disques renommée à l'époque. Leur collaboration sera fructueuse, permettant à France Gall de devenir l'une des grandes icônes de la chanson française. Au cours des décennies suivantes, Carrère continue de découvrir de nombreux talents et de les accompagner dans leur ascension. On lui doit notamment la découverte et le succès d'artistes tels que C. Jérôme, Carlos, Sylvie Vartan ou encore Sheila. Il est également responsable de la création du groupe à succès Les Musclés, qui accompagne la célèbre émission de télévision "Club Dorothée". Malgré son talent pour la découverte de jeunes artistes, Claude Carrère est également un excellent producteur. Il est à l'origine de nombreux tubes qui ont marqué l'histoire de la chanson française, tels que "Les Sucettes" de France Gall, "Quand la musique est bonne" de Jean-Jacques Goldman ou encore "Comme d'habitude" de Claude François, qui sera par la suite adaptée en anglais et deviendra le célèbre "My Way" de Frank Sinatra. Claude Carrère est incontestablement une personnalité incontournable de l'industrie musicale française.
