Claude François de Thiollaz, né le 1er février 1939 à Ismaïlia en Égypte, est une figure emblématique de la chanson française des années 1960 et 1970. Issu d'une famille aisée, il grandit dans un environnement privilégié et développe très tôt une passion pour la musique. À l'âge de 14 ans, il quitte l'Égypte avec sa famille suite à la nationalisation du canal de Suez. Installés à Monaco, il commence à se produire dans des soirées mondaines où il se fait rapidement remarquer par son charisme et sa voix exceptionnelle. En 1962, Claude François enregistre son premier disque, "Belles, belles, belles", qui devient un succès instantané. Il enchaîne ensuite les tubes avec des titres inoubliables tels que "Le Nabout Twist" et "Si j'avais un marteau", qui font danser toute la France. Sa carrière est lancée et il devient rapidement une véritable icône de la musique populaire. Claude François se distingue également par ses performances sur scène. Dynamique et charismatique, il est l'un des premiers artistes à intégrer véritablement la danse à ses spectacles. Il crée des chorégraphies endiablées qui font sensation et séduisent un public toujours plus nombreux. Ses concerts sont de véritables événements et provoquent l'hystérie chez ses fans, surnommés les "Claudettes". En parallèle de sa carrière musicale, Claude François se lance dans plusieurs autres projets. Il crée sa propre maison de disques, "Flèche Productions", qui rencontre un grand succès et produit de nombreux artistes. Il se lance également dans le cinéma, jouant dans plusieurs films dont "Copains Clopant" en 1965 et "Le Téléphone rose" en 1975. Cependant, derrière son image de star inébranlable, Claude François traverse aussi des moments difficiles. Sa vie privée est tumultueuse, marquée par des divorces, des scandales et des polémiques. Profondément perfectionniste et exigeant, il travaille sans relâche et met sa santé en péril. Le 11 mars 1978, à l'âge de 39 ans, il décède tragiquement accidentellement chez lui, à Paris, electrocuté dans sa salle de bain. Malgré sa disparition prématurée, Claude François reste l'un des artistes français les plus populaires et les plus influents. Son répertoire continue de séduire les générations, des classiques intemporels tels que "Comme d'habitude" ou "Alexandrie Alexandra" sont toujours diffusés à la radio et dans les fêtes. Sa musique et son style inimitable ont marqué à jamais la culture populaire française.
