Jean-Paul Huchon is a French politician who served as the President of the Regional Council of Île-de-France from 1998 to 2015. Born on May 29, 1946 in Viroflay, France, Huchon began his political career as a member of the French Socialist Party. He was first elected to the Regional Council of Île-de-France in 1985 and went on to serve as its President for three consecutive terms. During his time in office, Huchon focused on improving public transportation, environmental conservation, and economic development in the Île-de-France region. In addition to his regional duties, he also held various national political positions, including serving as a Member of the European Parliament from 1981 to 1999. Huchon retired from politics in 2015 after losing his bid for a fourth term as President of the Regional Council. Throughout his career, he was known for his dedication to public service and his efforts to improve the quality of life for residents of the Île-de-France region.
