Jennifer Warnes (born March 3, 1947) is an American singer and composer. Known for her powerful and emotional voice, she began her musical career in the 1960s as a singer for many artists, such as Leonard Cohen, Joe Cocker and Harry Belafonte. In 1972, she released her first solo album of the same name, followed by several other albums that will be critically and commercially successful. However, it was in 1983 that his career took a major turn with the release of the album "Famous Blue Raincoat", reproducing Leonard Cohen's songs. This album will be hailed by critics and will mark the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between the two artists. In 1987, Jennifer Warnes recorded the famous duo " (I've Had) The Time of My Life" with Bill Medley for the soundtrack of the film "Dirty Dancing", which won the Oscar of the best original song.
