Born on February 16, 1962, in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, Balance formed Coil in 1982 with his creative and romantic partner Peter Christopherson. The duo created a unique blend of electronic, industrial, and ambient music that pushed boundaries and challenged convention. In addition to his musical talents, Balance was also a talented visual artist and poet, embodying a truly multi-disciplinary approach to his creative endeavors.
