John Norquist is a retired American politician who served as the Mayor of Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 1988 to 2004. Born on January 14, 1949, Norquist made a name for himself as a proponent of New Urbanism, advocating for the development of walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods in cities. During his time as Mayor, Norquist focused on infrastructure projects and revitalizing downtown Milwaukee, including supporting the construction of the Milwaukee Riverwalk.
